Comments | Problematic cell line: Contaminated. Shown to be a HeLa derivative (PubMed=6451928; PubMed=20143388). Originally thought to originate from a male patient with a lung adenocarcinoma. The 2563 cell line is said to be derived from the MAC-21 cell line (Cellosaurus=CVCL_M627) which is also HeLa contaminated but which has never been tested for such a contamination.
