Cellosaurus EndoC-betaH3 (CVCL_IS72)
Cell line name | EndoC-betaH3 |
---|---|
Synonyms | EndoC-BH3 |
Accession | CVCL_IS72 |
Resource Identification Initiative | To cite this cell line use: EndoC-betaH3 (RRID:CVCL_IS72) |
Comments | Characteristics: The lentiviral vector insert containing the SV40 LT and hTERT can be excised by the Cre recombinase upon addition of tamixofen. Following excision of immortalizing transgenes, cell proliferation sharply decreases and in parallel there is a massive enhancement of beta cell-specific features such as increased INS gene expression. Genetic integration: Method=Transduction; Gene=HGNC; HGNC:11730; TERT. Genetic integration: Method=Transduction; Gene=Cre-ERT2 (Note=Cre recombinase fused with ligand-binding domain of ESR mutated to only bind tamoxifen). Genetic integration: Method=Transduction; Gene=UniProtKB; P03070; SV40 large T antigen. Transformant: NCBI_TaxID; 1891767; Simian virus 40 (SV40). Derived from site: In situ; Pancreas, islets of Langerhans; UBERON=UBERON_0000006. Cell type: Pancreatic beta cell; CL=CL_0000169. |
