Comments Population: Caucasian.
Characteristics: Could be useful as a new cell source for pharmacological studies and constructing bioartificial liver systems. When heat-stimulated it expresses 8 liver-specific transcription factor genes and thus many liver functions are induced upon heat treatment (PubMed=35406758).
Characteristics: Transduced with a pQMSCV-pHSP70B-TRE-pCMVmin-EGFP-IRES-tTA construct. The heat-activated HSPA6/HSP70B' promoter drives bicistronic gene expression of EGFP and of the tetracycline-controlled transactivator (tTA), which is mediated by an internal ribosomal entry site (IRES). Then, the tTA protein binds to TRE and activates the cytomegalovirus minimum promoter (pCMVmin) upstream of EGFP, which in turn induces further expression of the EGFP and tTA genes, providing a transcriptional positive feedback loop (from parent cell line).
Characteristics: The amplified tTA promotes the expression of 8 liver-enriched transcription factor (LETF) genes that were transduced using two constructs: PB513B-1/TRE-HNF1A-FOXA2/HNF3B-CEBPA-CEBPB-CEBPG-EF1a-PuroR and PB513B-1/TRE-HNF1B-HNF4A-ONECUT1-EF1a-Bla (PubMed=35406758).
