Cellosaurus SV80 (CVCL_0541)

[Text version]
Cell line name SV80
Synonyms SV-80; SV 80; SV-A clone 80; SV clone 80; Simian virus 80
Accession CVCL_0541
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: SV80 (RRID:CVCL_0541)
Comments Problematic cell line: Probably misidentified. Said to originate from fibroblasts of the lung of a male black individual (CLS=300345), but in reality seems to be established from skin fibroblast of an adult female (strain A). Note that some papers have probably missasigned it to be from a Fanconi anemia patient.
Part of: Naval Biosciences Laboratory (NBL) collection (transferred to ATCC in 1982).
Transformant: NCBI_TaxID; 1891767; Simian virus 40 (SV40).
Species of origin Homo sapiens (Human) (NCBI Taxonomy: 9606)
