Cellosaurus HepG2.117 (CVCL_A5AX)

[Text version]
Cell line name HepG2.117
Synonyms HepG2.TA2-7.117
Accession CVCL_A5AX
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: HepG2.117 (RRID:CVCL_A5AX)
Comments Population: Caucasian.
Virology: Expresses a hepatitis B virus (HBV) subtype AYW genome under the control of a tetracycline transactivator (tTA) protein, a fusion of tetR with the activation domain of HSV-1 VP16. Transcription of HBV pre-genomic RNA is induced upon doxycycline removal from the culture medium, leading to capsid assembly and DNA synthesis (PubMed=16935386).
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection/transduction; Gene=UniProtKB; P04483; Escherichia coli Tn10 tetR.
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection/transduction; Gene=UniProtKB; P06492; Human herpesvirus 1 VP16 (UL28) (Note=With p.Met1_Arg360del).
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection/transduction; Gene=UniProtKB; P00557; Escherichia coli hygromycin-B 4-O-kinase (hph) (HygR).
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection/transduction; Gene=UniProtKB; P00552; Transposon Tn5 neo.
Derived from site: In situ; Liver; UBERON=UBERON_0002107.
